Privacy Policy

Female First Physiotherapy recognises the importance of protecting the privacy of all personal information provided to us by users of our websites, patients, and anyone who interacts with our company in any way. This is in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988  and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). 

 

Patients’ privacy is very important to us and this policy deals with the collection, use and disclosure of personal and health information as well as access and correction.

Collection of your information

Personal information includes any information about you that identifies you or by which your identity can be reasonably determined. When we collect information from an individual, we will ensure to do so in a fair manner. We will only collect information that is necessary for one or more of our functions or activities, this includes personal information on booking and further health information during consultation.

If collecting sensitive information, we will treat it with the utmost security and confidentiality. We will ensure that it is not collected for any purposes, other than those for which we have obtained the individual’s consent, unless the law requires otherwise, or other exceptional circumstances prevail as described under the act. 

Use and disclosure of your personal information

The personal information you provide will be collected for the primary purpose of providing high quality health care.

Female First Physiotherapy will only disclose personal and health information in accordance with the Privacy Act. In most cases, personal information will only be used or disclosed for the purposes for which we have advised that we are collecting, for related purposes and where we have the consent of the individual to do so. However, in some cases, we may also use or disclose your personal information if we are compelled to do so by law. 

Consent and Confidentiality 

Female First Physiotherapy will need to collect your personal information to provide healthcare services to you. 

When you complete our patient registration form you are providing consent for our healthcare practitioners and practice staff to collect, use, hold, and in some cases share your personal information. We will only collect information that is necessary and relevant to provide you with the best possible healthcare. 

Access to Personal Information

Individuals will be able to access their personal information upon request. However, our practice may occasionally need to deny access to information in accordance with the exemptions contained in the Act.

Use of email

Emailing is not a secure method of communication and therefore should only be used for appropriate matters, ie. simple enquiries, appointment scheduling and modifications to bookings. Personal information should not be communicated via email. 

Updates to Policy

Our privacy policy may change from time to time and will be available on our website.
